Ringing in the New Year with Action!

Less Talking, More Doing…

Have you ever started off the year talking about your goals, your dreams, how much you want to accomplish in the coming year?

I know have. In fact, I’m sure most of us have a time or two. We talk about the things we are going to do differently this year. The places we want to go. The money we want to make. The debt we want to dump. We talk and talk and talk and talk.

Blah Blah Blah…

The real question is this: Do we ever stop talking and start taking action? Let’s face it: Words just don’t cut it. We will never accomplish much by just sitting on our behinds and discussing great ideas. There has to be ACTION behind our words. Some of us, like myself, need a good swift kick in the butt sometimes to realize this.

It’s easy to make excuses and use the “I could, but..” or “I can’t, because…” Those two statements are dangerous. The wind deflates from our sails every time we say them. “I could work on my business, but I just don’t have the time today. Maybe tomorrow.” or “I can’t go to this event because I have small children at home and I’m just too busy.” There will always be things that come up that prevent us from taking action. The key is, if we really truly want to succeed we have to push past those excuses, those “not now” moments and push forward to get things done.

No More Excuses

Well, the year is now 2016 and I have made a decision. There is no way that I want to spend another year of my life, another 365 days of my precious time just twiddling my thumbs. I don’t want to be sitting here on January 1, 2017 saying the same ol thing. It’s not going to happen. This year is all about taking action on the things I want to accomplish. Some things will require baby steps. Other things just require me to take a flying leap outside my comfort zone. Either way, things are getting done this year.

Yes I will still talk about my goals. This time around, however, I will have a plan of action to go along with it.

That’s why for 2016, my word is ACTION.

Are you ringing in the new year with a word of your own?

Starting off the new year with a word that highlights what you want most out of the year is, in my opinion, better than any resolution you could make. Would love to hear what your “word of the year” is ~ please feel free to comment below!

Have a Blessed and Happy New Year – Start taking some Action today!

Taking the “Frazzle” out of Business by Hitting the Beach

A Frazzled State

What keeps my business in a state of Frazzlement (is that a word?) are three main things ~ time management, focus, and twins.

There is always a little frizzle and frazzle in my day and their names are Jaxon and Jase :) I have to work around the schedule of my twin boys and although I feel like I’ve carved out a decent timeline, sometimes it is hit and miss. I feel like there are many things I could improve on and systems I could put in place to make life easier.

I have been “building” my Virtual Services business over the last couple years but have only really started to gain some traction in the last 6 months or so. I’ve taken steps to:

  • checkmark-bigLet Go of Bright Shiny Object Syndrome
  • Stop the Constant State of Learning and start taking action
  • Let go of the mindset that I just don’t know enough
  • Become more involved in a strong community of like-minded people

Although I feel good about the steps I’ve made, I still feel like my business is in a constant state of, “What do I do next? What should I work on first? What systems should I have in place to make the most of my time?” There are many days where I feel like I am spinning my wheels and really getting nowhere.

The fact that I know I have such limited time stresses me out to the max. I think this leads to focusing on tasks that aren’t exactly in line with what I should be doing to really benefit my business.

The most important thing I’ve learned on this journey is that if you surround yourself with the positive, the inspirational, the successful, you can’t help but come away with some of that in your own life. You can’t help but believe a little deeper in yourself, take a leap outside your comfort zone, and make big things happen.

Every single time I’ve done something that is outside my comfort zone, it not only boosts my confidence, but something great comes out of it. New friendships are created, connections are made, a new skill is learned, or a new client is gained. It’s all good.

I would LOVE to attend the Beachpreneurs Lifestyle Conference because, for one, it would be my very first live event and I am drooling at the thought of being in a room full of so much inspiration and success.

Simply being part of a community like Solo Masterminds has made a huge impact on my life and business. I can only imagine what kind of impact the Beachpreneurs Lifestyle Conference would have and I would love the opportunity to find out!

Ignite : My Word for 2015

2015 is finally here!

That means it’s time to reflect and consider what we want most from the coming year and how we can start off on the right foot.

2014 was an amazing year in many ways – it was a year of growth, of learning, and deciding what I wanted most from my business and my future.

My Word was Confidence.

Choosing a word for the year was a little strange for me because I had never done it before. I didn’t necessarily know why I was doing it, but it seemed like a good way to start off the year.

I’m so glad I did because this whole last year has been about building the confidence within me that I know I need in order to succeed. To get to the point of success that I want, I can’t be sitting on the sidelines waiting for my chance. I had to take a leap of faith, step outside my comfort zone, and make things happen.

I’m still a work in progress but I’ve come a long way from the person I was at the beginning of 2014. That’s why I’m so excited to choose my next word for the upcoming year:

Ignite

Everything about this word says passion, drive, fire, and a deep down yearning for something more. That is what I want my 2015 to be centered around: Passion for my business, a drive to succeed, a burning fire in everything I do, and a yearning to succeed more than I want to breath.

That is what the new year is going to hold – What will be your word for 2015? Would love to hear!

Peace, love, and hugs to all of you!
